| Businesses Invited to Walk This Way | |
| 22 November 2005 The Tourism & Environment Forum, working with the Southern Uplands Partnership, are inviting businesses from along the Southern Upland Way to take part in a two day 'learning journey' to the Highlands on the 28th and 29th November. The 'West Highland Way Learning Journey' aims to give businesses based along the Southern Upland Way the opportunity to meet similar businesses along the West Highland Way to discuss how best to capitalise on the increasing popularity of long distance walking routes. The West Highland Way is one of Scotland's most popular walking routes with a well established core of accommodation providers and attractions who benefit directly from the walking market. Those on the trip will meet with Highland businesses to discuss best practice and how the route is used to promote their businesses. This free event includes a short seminar, visits to selected businesses, dinner and an overnight stay. Transport is provided by coach from Moffat. Places are available on a first come, first served basis. For more information:
