| Launch of Scottish Environment Week Focuses on Tourism | |
| 18 January 2007 This years Scottish Environment Week (5th - 11th February) will be launched with a public event on the 1st February. The event focuses on tourism and is entitled 'Wildlife, Spectacular Species and Castles: How sustainable tourism can make the best of Scotland’s Environment'.
This years Scottish Environment Week (5th - 11th February) will be launched with a public event on the 1st February. The event focuses on tourism and is entitled 'Wildlife, Spectacular Species and Castles: How sustainable tourism can make the best of Scotland's Environment'. Guests attending the launch will be welcomed by Patricia Ferguson MSP, Minister for Tourism, and will enjoy talks from Cameron McNeish (Editor of the Great Outdoors; Ramblers' Association Scotland); Dave Sexton (re-introducing sea eagles on Mull, RSPB); and Fiona Watson (Honorary Fellow at the Centre of History, UHI). Now in its third year, the Scottish Environment Week creates an opportunity to focus on the importance of the environment and its value to the society and economy of Scotland. The launch event is a ticketed event, open to the public. Taking place on Thursday 1st February at Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Garden, 7.30pm - 10pm, tickets cost £5. For more information:
