Wild Scotland: Scottish Wildlife & Nature Tourism Operators Association

Wild Scotland is the new association for wildlife and nature tourism operators in Scotland. The association was constituted on 2nd October 2003.

The first open meeting of the association was held on Weds 10th December 2003 in Perth. A note of the meeting, including who is on the Wild Scotland Executive Committee, can be downloaded below.

The association is now receiving members. If you are interested in joining, please get in touch or visit the Wild Scotland website.


* Wild Scotland Aim *

  • to encourage the commercial operation, development and promotion of wildlife and nature tourism in Scotland in ways which are sustainable environmentally, economically and socially.

* Wild Scotland Charter *

Members of the association agree to follow Wild Scotland’s membership charter:

  • Adhere to the laws of land and sea, in particular those relating to wildlife
  • Be committed to the conservation of Scotland’s natural heritage
  • Be committed to providing a quality experience for visitors
  • Be supportive of the aim and objects of Wild Scotland
  • Promote & demonstrate the responsible interaction between visitors & nature
  • Agree to abide by Wild Scotland Best Practice Guidelines (to be developed in consultation with members)
  • Not bring wildlife tourism or the Association into disrepute
